Our Commitment
The Visual Arts Program at Jose de Diego is here to give our talented students a challenging experience that will help propel their talents to new heights. We do this through an intense curriculum that focuses on developing their Knowledge and abilities in 2-D, 3-D, and digital art. Due to this Students are put in a position to be able to transition to Art Magnet Programs on the high school level.

*The Visual Arts Academy requires an audition for admission*
Students are selected to the Art Academy at Jose de Diego Middle School through an application and audition process. Students may audition for ONE program only. The audition process is based on talent, potential and commitment.
R.A.W. Project / Re-imagining the Arts in Wynwood
When you think of ART in Miami, you think of WYNWOOD. For years, the Wynwood neighborhood in Miami has seen a renaissance in arts and culture. In order to sustain the arts in Wynwood, Jose de Diego Middle School a Miami-Dade County Public School in partnership with, WynwoodMap.com, brings together a coalition of non-profits, organizations, corporate partners, businesses, city agencies, artists and musicians to form the R.A.W. Project.
The R.A.W. Magnet offers a rigorous investigation into art and design materials, techniques, and ideas. Whether your child’s interests are in drawing, painting, fashion, digital design, animation, architecture, or sculpture, our courses are designed to broaden students’ education so they can be successful creative thinkers and makers in high school and beyond.
